Principles That Shape Our Work

We do not press clients toward action. We help them understand their options clearly, then support whatever decision they make.

Registered Legal Practitioners

Our team are members of the Malaysian Bar with particular experience in employment law, trust structures, and statutory pension schemes — EPF, KWAP, and related frameworks.

Confidential, Unhurried Consultations

Every engagement begins with listening. We take the time to understand each client's circumstances in full before offering any view on what, if anything, should be done.

Written Summaries of Every Review

After each review or advisory session, clients receive a clear written record of our findings. This can be kept for future reference, shared with family, or used as a basis for further decisions.

Honest Assessment, Not Advocacy for Its Own Sake

We tell clients honestly when legal action is unlikely to serve their interests. Our role is to inform, not to generate work. Clients are better placed to decide when they have a full picture.

Transparent, Fixed Fees

Fee structures are stated clearly from the first meeting. Clients know what they are paying and what it covers, so there are no subsequent adjustments or unexpected additions.

Continuity of Counsel Over Time

Clients in our long-term programme work with the same team throughout. Familiar counsel means less time re-explaining circumstances, and advice that keeps pace with how life evolves.

Would a clearer picture of your pension position be useful?

Many people reach retirement with unresolved questions about what they are owed. A single consultation with Amanah Counsel can help clarify that position — with no obligation to proceed further.

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions we hear often from clients considering whether to seek advice on their retirement entitlements.

I am not sure whether I have a pension issue — is a consultation still worthwhile?

Often, yes. Many clients arrive uncertain whether they have a case at all. The purpose of an initial review is precisely that: to assess your position honestly and let you know what, if anything, merits attention. If there is nothing that warrants further action, we will say so plainly and explain why.

What does the Pension Entitlement Review actually cover?

The review covers your EPF withdrawal entitlements, KWAP and government pension scheme provisions where applicable, any private retirement scheme arrangements, and historical employer pension obligations that may still be relevant. You will receive a written summary of findings and our honest assessment of whether further steps are advisable.

How long does the dispute representation process typically take?

This varies considerably depending on the nature of the dispute and the forum involved. Matters resolved through correspondence or administrative review can conclude in weeks. Formal tribunal proceedings typically take several months. We keep clients informed at every stage so that expectations remain realistic throughout.

Are your fees fixed, or can they change during an engagement?

The fees listed are the fees charged. We do not adjust them mid-engagement without your prior agreement. For the Entitlement Review, the RM 240 covers the full consultation and written summary. For Dispute Representation at RM 700, this covers the scope as described at the outset of the engagement. Any variation requires your explicit consent.

Is what I share with you treated as confidential?

Yes. Our practitioners are bound by professional obligations under the Legal Profession Act 1976 (Malaysia). Information you share with us in the course of a consultation is held in strict confidence and not disclosed to third parties without your instruction, except where the law requires otherwise.

Who is the Comprehensive Pension Protection Programme intended for?

It is designed for clients whose retirement circumstances are not straightforward — those with multiple pension sources, family-business structures, cross-border assets, or simply those who value the continuity of working with counsel who understands their full position over time. It is not necessary for everyone; we will advise honestly whether it suits your situation.
